Process

Process

From our first meeting to presenting the final deliverables, here is a rundown of our general workflow.

Design Brief & Strategy

We’ll meet either in person, via Skype or over the telephone to create a design brief. The design brief outlines the general parameters of the project and serves as the initial conversation around design concept. It is helpful for the client to collect visual ideas of what they love or any other inspiration for the project. Download a copy of the design brief here.

Estimate & Contract

Based on the design brief, we’ll provide an estimate for your project including any licensing of fonts or images as well as production costs to finalize the pieces.

In addition, we will provide a copy of our contract which includes the agreed upon timeline if necessary.

Project Start

The signed contract is returned to us in addition to any content needed to start the project. Delivery of the contract, all finalized text and imagery for the project indicates the starting point of the design phase.

Research & Concepting

We begin the design process by researching the applicable market.

We present you with 2-3 concepts/ideas (as outlined in the estimate) for the project. These concepts may be rough and in black/white as they are just intended to give an idea of the general direction.

Editing/Proofing

We’ll discuss which direction you think is best for your project as well as any changes you would like to see in the editing/proofing state.

We’ll execute the work in the final format and apply any edits discussed. The number of rounds of edits is outlined in the estimate but may be be increased if necessary to complete the project accurately.

Finalizing Deliverables

Upon final email sign-off, we will finalize the design files as described in the estimate: sending the file to print, publishing it digitally, etc. If the project is a printed piece, we will follow through with the printer to ensure accuracy.
